"My dog; he is dead." - "Where is the nearest bar?"

"My dog; he is dead." - "Does it serve real ale?"

"My dog; he is dead." - "Where can we find Troma films?"

"My dog; he is dead." - "I'm a Nigerian prince wishing to transfer money into you bank account."

"My dog; he is dead." - "Well, Vesuvius is kind of impressive but you've never seen the Aberystwyth football team after 14 pints and a dodgy kebab."

It's all in the inflection.

I don't know any Italian, but I did a GCSE in latin which is pretty much the same. Here's some useful phrases:

Caecilius est in Horto - Caecilius is in the garden
Canem est in via - The dog is in the street
Cibus est in mensa - The food is on the table
Clemens in foro ambulabat - Clemens walks in the forum

Of course, 'useful' is a relative term here.
