A temporary position has become available for the position of girlfriend for the 18th-20th May 2007. The current post holder is taking academic leave at this time and will unfortunately be unable to undertake her duties for the weekend.
Duties include:
- Attending a Meatloaf concert in Glasgow on the Friday night
- Ticket availability permitting, attending the Radio 1 Big Weekend in Preston on Saturday and/or Sunday
- Assisting Dan in finding a venue for The Q Party, due to take place later this year
The ideal candidate will be free for the weekend in question and have an interest in the activities listed. Accomodation and transportation will be provided. There is no obligation to provide the… ahm… additional services offered by the current post holder.
Dan is an equal oppertunities employer and, despite the title of the position, will consider candidates of either gender for the role.
But seriously: now that Claire can’t (she’s got exams), who wants to come to a few live music events with me? Aberites, Prestonians, and pretty much anybody else are equally welcome to apply.

Wow. That looks so cool.
Sadly, I’ve already got a similar position.

Have the invitations to the Q Party been sent?

INVITATIONS TO THE Q PARTY HAVE NOT BEEN SENT OUT. We’re hoping to send them in a few weeks time, once we’ve arranged a venue.

But the website’s already there…
It’s so hard to tell you guys are geeks ;-)

sounds good, i fear the meatloaf concert would be wasted on me though. I’d get incredibly excited about ‘bat out of hell’ and ‘i would do anything for love’ and then not have a clue about the rest!

I’d love to see meatloaf but unfortunately transport could be a problem.

If my money situation changes I’d love to see Meat Loaf before he kills himself, but I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting for me to get money.

Beth: Can get you copies of stuff to listen to and decide if it’s worth it, to you.
Matt: Tickets, accomodation, transport are already paid for, and I’m asking for nothing for any of them. All you’d need to do is get to Preston and pay for food/drinks.

if i am not too late, i have been at home, i am free and would like to go, plus i have applied for big weekend tickets too, so if you don’t get them i might.

Additional information: Turns out the original plans included Claire driving from Preston to Glasgow and back to have enough car seats available. Now, the ideal candidate will have a car… but I’m still trying to work out another way (square peg, round hole), possibly involving larger vehicles. Even if you’re a non-driver, you’re still welcome to apply.
Feebee: have e-mailed you.

Seeing meatloaf would be pretty cool…. though I’m not so sure I’d like to be labelled as your girlfriend even for a weekend so don’t think I’ll be applying for the position
